Brief Bio

Hi! My name is Sarah Bader, and I am very excited to be here at UNCG as a GC student! I am from Orlando, Florida, and I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in biotechnology in 2020. During undergrad, I was involved in PILOT, a class that allows students to work on independent research and act as teaching assistants for a molecular biology class. During my senior year, I found out about genetic counseling and grew fascinated by it after spending time interviewing and shadowing genetic counselors to gain exposure to the field. After graduation, I continued to work as a teaching assistant and was involved with different advocacy groups. I interned for the Mental Health Association of Central Florida as a guardian advocate for individuals who were Baker Acted. I also volunteered as a caseworker for the Red Cross, providing resources and support to individuals and families who have experienced housing instability due to fires.

In my free time, you can find me at a new restaurant, sleeping, or watching one of my many favorite shows! Please reach out with any questions.
