During her time at GMU, she was an active member of the National Community Service organization Alpha Phi Omega. Following graduation, she worked in patient care roles spending time as a CNA and as a Contact Lens Technician. She then attended the University of Pittsburgh where she earned her MPH in Public Health Genetics in 2022. At Pitt, her graduate research was a qualitative analysis focused on the implementation of universal Lynch syndrome screening programs across the U.S. After earning her MPH, Amber worked in research at UNC as a Senior Biocurator for the ClinGen Resource.
Amber was drawn to genetic counseling because it felt like the perfect blend of her interests in patient care, public health, genetics, and research. In her free time, she enjoys making baked goods, spoiling her cats, and going to the beach. Amber is thrilled to be a part of the UNCG Genetic Counseling Program Class of 2027 and is happy to answer any questions.
