Hi, everyone! I’m from Wilmington, North Carolina, so I’m a native beach bum. My interest in applied medical anthropology led me to pursue a career in genetic counseling! My passion for healthcare equity, reproductive justice, and women’s health lends me to want to specialize in preconception and prenatal genetic counseling.
During my undergraduate experience, I volunteered as a doula at the local hospital to provide emotional support to birthing women. I was also involved in a student organization called the UNCW Plastic Ocean Project, which hosted educational meetings about keeping plastic out of the ocean as well as community cleanups. I realized my love for the environment, people, and healthy communities are interrelated.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, trying new coffee shops, horseback riding, going on walks and hikes, and wandering through antique stores!
