Rachel Barnett and family

After graduating from UNCG, Rachel worked as a Cancer Genetic Counselor at the Yale Cancer Center in New Haven, Connecticut for 10 years where she not only counseled patients, but also taught medical school and nursing students, helped to supervise genetic counseling students, and oversaw the scheduling and referrals to the program. In 2014 she started working for InformedDNA on the clinical team, first as a Cancer Genetic Counselor and then as an Assistant Team Lead for the cancer team. Currently, she is a Genetic Analyst in their Utilization Management Division. She loves everything about working from home! She still lives in CT and has been married to Larry for 17 years. They have two sons, Evan who is 10 and Logan who is 8. Her boys keep them busy with Cub Scouts, soccer, and voice lessons. They have a house full of animals, including a dog, 2 guinea pigs, a hamster, and fish. Rachel also keeps busy as a board member of her Temple and has enjoyed traveling during non-pandemic times. In the past few years she visited Botswana and went on a cruise around the Baltic.
