Hi y’all! My name is Jordan Miller. I grew up in Chapin, SC and graduated from Lander University in the spring of 2023 with a degree in biology. You may not have heard of Lander, but you may have heard of the town it’s located in, Greenwood, SC. It is best known to those interested in genetics as the home of Greenwood Genetics Center (GGC)!

I found out about genetic counseling from a teacher during my senior year of high school and was immediately interested. I actually chose to go to Lander for undergrad because of its proximity to GGC and was lucky enough to intern with them during the summer of 2021! The experience provided me with hours of clinical observation experience and fully solidified my desire to pursue the genetic counseling field.

During undergrad, I also volunteered as a crisis counselor for an online text platform. I worked as an aide for a preschool for kids with disabilities in Columbia, SC, and I worked as a peer leader for incoming college freshmen to help with the adjustment process.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring new spots between Greensboro and Raleigh with my husband, as well as reading books and experimenting with new loose leaf tea blends! If you have any questions about the application process, living outside of Greensboro during the program, or anything else that may come up, feel free to reach out!
