Following graduation in 2006, Melissa went back to Canada to join the Genetics team at Kingston General Hospital. In 2007, she moved to Fort Worth, TX to take a new position as a genetic counselor at the Metabolic Genetics clinic at Cook Children’s Medical Center. In 2012, she joined Gene Dx on the Neurology Sales Team as a Neurology Product Specialist. This involved a lot of educating neurologists on genetic testing for intellectual disability, seizures, muscular dystrophies and more. After 8 years with GeneDx, and in the midst of the pandemic, Melissa started with BioMarin as a Senior Account Manager on the Hemophilia team. She has now transitioned to the Achondroplasia team.
Melissa lives just outside of Dallas, TX. She has two boys, Zavier (10 y) and Leo (2 y). She spends most of her free time on the sidelines of her 10 year old’s soccer games or attending Dallas Stars hockey games with her boys.
