Eddie is originally from Madison Heights, VA. He completed his undergraduate degree at the College of William and Mary. After graduation from UNCG, he worked as a laboratory genetic counselor in the Genetic Services department at LabCorp. In 2006, he moved to the position of Technical Supervisor where he was responsible for the daily operations of the genetic counseling team. In 2010, he moved to the position of Manager of Genetic Services. This included supervising the genetic counseling team and client services groups. Additionally, this role allowed for Eddie to coordinate with UNCG for lab-related student rotations. From 2010-2015, he completed his MBA from East Carolina University. In 2017, Eddie moved back to Virginia to direct the hereditary cancer risk assessment and education program with Centra Health at the Pearson Cancer Center in Lynchburg, VA. He is a member of the Virginia Association of Genetic Counselor (VAAGC), and currently serves as the western region representative for VAAGC. With NSGC, Eddie is a member of the Cancer SIG and attended the Business Case Summit in 2021. He continues to serve on the UNCG External Advisory Committee.
Eddie lives in Lynchburg, VA with his wife (Ann), 10 year old son-Owen, 7 year old son-Walker, and 1 year old goldendoodle-Brewer.
